Aybroad Precision Engineering and Partnership

Introduction In the realms of personalized customization and medical rehabilitation, PCL (Polycaprolactone) is nothing short of "magic." It shatters the traditional model of "mass production," where users must passively adapt to the shoe. Aybroad integrates PCL materials into insole design to offer end-users a safe, convenient, and repeatable DIY customization experience.

Core Features: Low-Temp Thermoplasticity & Shape Memory

The defining characteristic of PCL is its remarkably low melting point (typically 58°C - 60°C / 136°F - 140°F). This means users can utilize hot water or a household hairdryer to transform PCL components from a rigid solid into a transparent, soft, and pliable state.

Users can mold the material directly against their arch or a specific affected area. Once cooled to room temperature, the material re-hardens, "remembering" the unique anatomical shape to provide rigid, structural support. This process can be repeated multiple times without degrading the material. Furthermore, PCL is an FDA-approved biomedical material, ensuring it is non-toxic and safe for direct skin contact.

Aybroad’s Innovative Applications: Composite Solutions

As a manufacturer, Aybroad goes beyond supplying raw materials; we provide integrated PCL-based composite solutions:

  • Moldable Arch Inserts: Using precision extrusion and die-cutting, we manufacture PCL sheets of specific thicknesses and shapes, pre-integrated into the insole's arch region.

  • Smart Composite Engineering: We have mastered the technology of bonding PCL with soft substrates (such as EVA or memory foam). This ensures that during the heating process, only the PCL layer deforms while the base material remains intact. This makes the development of "Semi-Custom Orthotics" both feasible and efficient.

Market Value

PCL is ideal for rapid-customization services in physical therapy clinics, post-operative rehabilitation braces, and retail DIY functional insoles. It drastically lowers the barriers and time costs associated with professional custom orthotics.
